PART-TIME FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR | | An excellent opportunity for an experienced Part- Time Finance Administrator has arisen within our Financial Services client based in Cheltenham. This role is initially a 6 month maternity contract and you will be required to work Monday- Friday 8.30/9am until 12.30/1pm ideally. The main purpose of the position is to perform daily/monthly/yearly reconciliation process in order to maintain financial control across the client teams.
Key Accountabilities:
Complete tasks within agreed targets, enabling team to achieve its objectives.
Ensure all work is undertaken according to documented procedures and regulatory requirements.
Ensure finance & reconciliation controls are adhered to. In order to provide a high quality, customer focused service.
Interpret the needs of internal/external clients, to set and meet expectations and resolve issues as they arise.
Provide accounting services/support to Life & Pensions Client Service teams, enabling them to achieve their objectives.
Provide weekly/monthly management information.
Challenge existing systems, processes and controls to improve efficiency, quality and service.
Display an understanding of business critical deadlines to prioritise your work.
Display initiative and flexibility in order to exceed customer expectations.
Communication must be clear and concise, in line with corporate client standards.
Display corporate values and behaviours, working with colleagues effectively to achieve common goals.
Take ownership for self-development/progression.
Provide and receive desk-side training.
To be considered for this position you will have:
An understanding of accounting processes and procedures
Previous experience of accounts reconciliations, especially bank accounts
Ability to deal effectively with internal & external clients by phone, email & fax
Good levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Good analysis and problem solving skills
Good knowledge of Excel and Word with ability to manipulate spreadsheets
Working knowledge of life and pensions would be advantageous
Solid written skills
Good Team member
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
The ability to be able to prioritise workloads and reporting deadlines
Attention to detail
Can work on their own as well as part of a team
Able to embrace change to improve working methods and outputs

COMPLIANCE OFFICER | | A sound knowledge of all FSA rules and guidance relevant to insurance intermediaries.
Broad experience of working in Compliance in the insurance sector
Planning and executing compliance audits across different parts of the business
Mapping regulatory requirements to business models, to achieve integrated and cohesive solutions
Working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Stay up to date with all relevant regulatory changes, and ensure that they are introduced into the business in a timely and appropriate manner
Ensure that managers and staff are and remain competent to handle the regulatory requirements associated with their roles and responsibilities, including their obligation to always treat customers fairly
Provide compliance expertise on business (change) projects
Ensure that all necessary support documentation remains up to date and available to those who need it
Execute the auditing and monitoring specified in the Compliance Business Plan, and take effective remedial action to resolve any issues identified during that process. From time to time one off audits will be necessary in addition
Investigate and resolve any compliance issues that arise from a breakdown in procedures, work practices or systems
